Famous heroesSupreme Grand Master DemorielDemoriel is the current supreme grand master of the Angelis Destructorum. Years ago, when the Dark Angels first shared their secrets with the Angels of Destruction, Demoriel was born on the surface of Fimus III. After some years, he had grown into a strong and larger than normal boy. Apart from his daily job, helping his family and tribe by planting and harvesting the few edible plant species that this planet allows to grow on its surface, he was the leader of a small gang of youths. His gang was always trying to steal food or weapons from other tribes, just for sports. The Fimians are usually non-violent people, who only go to war against other tribes after serious insults or some other grave form of disrespect, so the youths usually just get chased off if they are caught stealing. Demoriel's gang however, always used stealth and some nice diversion or other tactics, so they were never caught. This showed that he was an exceptional leader even at this early stage of his life. His parents were proud of him and they always said to him that one day, the Angels would come for him, so he could fight alongside them in the wars fought in the skies above Fimus. Every year, he eagerly awaited the day that the Angels would arrive in their gigantic roaring bird. They always came to his tribe and the surrounding tribes looking for strong boys to take with them. The families of the boys that are chosen to become an Angel, see this as great honour and so, the Angels are received with a grand ceremony after which all boys line up to be inspected. On the same day as every year, Demoriel heard the Angels' bird descending from the skies and, from his hiding place in the mud and covered by some bushes, he saw the burning tails of the thunderhawk gunship in which three of the chapter's chaplains landed on the surface. To Demoriel's surprise, three Angels with their faces of death came out of the bird's belly and walked straigth at him. He thought he was properly hidden because his parents had come to search for him to prepare him for the ceremony but couldn't find him anywhere. The Space Marines had, of course, spotted the boy on their sensors, and because they had been watching him for several years now and were preparing for a new campaign, decided that they wouldn't waste time with ceremonies and just take him with them, as he was the most appropriate candidate anyway. After receiving his full training as a Space Marine in the scout company, Demoriel continued to progress rapidly through the ranks of the Angels of Destruction and after several years, he was inducted into the Deathwing. He then volunteered to become a veteran sergeant in the scout company, as he always had talent for stealth and reconnaissance. He fought in numerous campaigns and trained hundreds of young marines before he finally accepted the title of Company Master of the 10th company. After several years of succesfully leading his company, he was chosen as a Grand Master and finally got to know all of the secrets surrounding the Fallen. That same year, however, the current Supreme Grand Master Uriel was mortally wounded on the battlefield, stubbornly refusing to retreat from an overwhelming horde of greenskins that had ambushed his strike force's position. Before the entire force was lost, however, reinforcements arrived in the form of several squads of Deathwing terminators of the third company. These allowed the Supreme Grand Master's force to stand their ground and evacuate him with a thunderhawk. While the battle underneath raged on, tilting in favor of the Angels of Destruction due to the arrival of the terminators, Uriel died in the apothecarion on board the battle barge "Deadly rain", but not before declaring Demoriel as his successor. This was a surprise as Demoriel had only just been inducted into the Inner Circle and all Grand Masters objected against this decision, even Demoriel himself did not want to assume command of the entire chapter. The Grand Master of Sanctity was present when Uriel had spoken his last words and there could be no discussion, Demoriel would become the new Supreme Grand Master of the Angelis Destructorum. Against all odds, Demoriel has led the chapter in a magnificent way from that day until this very hour, leading his marines to many a glorious victory, and aiding their Unforgiven brethren in finding many members of the Fallen. The doubts of the Inner Circle have long since vanished and they are now as one man behind Demoriel's decisions. Interrogator-Chaplain RazielRaziel is the current leader of the 2nd company of the Angels of Destruction. He likes to be at the forefront of his strike force and therefore, he always has his jumppack strapped to his armour and he's always accompanied by his trusted Assault Marine squad. Many a foe has been vanquished by the swing of his crozius. Most notable among the victories of the Angelis Destructorum under the command of Raziel is at the battle of Haspargis. While the Angels were investigating a possible connection between the Planetary Governor Kasimir Spulnikov and a heretical uprising they had managed to contain at an early stage with the help of the planetary defense guardsmen, reports came in that an Eldar raiding force was attacking a large imperial outpost some clicks northward of the city. Deciding that the outpost was a good point to continue his investigation, Raziel gave the order to move out. The marines were to be the spearhead force while the Haspargian imperial guard platoons would assist and provide covering fire. As the force arrived at the outpost, no Eldar were to be seen, but as the rhino column moved into range of the defense cannons on the outposts outer walls, the cannons burst alive and at the same time, the guns of the guardsmen that were behind the marines, opened fire. Many rhinos were destroyed and marines were killed in the first couple of seconds of this deadly crossfire. If it weren't for Raziel's leadership and the stubbornness of the chapters members of the Deathwing, there wouldn't be much left of the 2nd company of the Angels of Destruction, but the ambushed marines heard Raziel's voice booming through their helmets: "Brothers! We have been betrayed by the filth of this rotting place. This planet is not fit to hold the remains of such valiant warriors that I now see lying in the dirt. Warriors like Brother Damarus, Brother Ulixes and Brother-Sergeant Thesius. We are marines, we will fight and we will live through this day to honor our brethren that have fallen here. Now FIGHT! Let these heretics feel the chainsword's bite, the bolter's sting and the plasma's burn." After several hours of blood spilled on both sides, the outpost was taken by the Angels and the heretics were pounded into the dust by the defense cannons. The stronghold of Governor Spulnikov was bombarded from space, as soon as Raziel could get the message through to battle barge "Endless Fire", that was circling the planet. That day, hundreds of battle brothers died, but they will never be forgotten. Their names are engraved in the memory of Raziel and every marine who fought on that blasted planet.
Dreadnought AriochArioch was once a devastator marine that had the honor of carrying one of the few plasma cannons of the chapter on the fields of battle. He gained this honor by showing exceptional marksmanship with any weapon he laid hands upon. He traversed through the ranks of the chapter, first wielding a bolter, like all of his brothers, then the plasma gun. This weapon should have been passed on through his squad as dictated by the chapter rule, but all of his brothers in the squad recognized his supremacy with this gun. Therefore, it became his personal weapon. This deviance was tolerated by his squad Sergeant, but soon, the chaplain found out about this marines supreme skill with plasma weaponry and that his reverence for the Plasma Spirit was matched by none. Arioch was then denied the joy of bearing the plasma gun, but he was allowed to start training as a devastator with a much more powerful plasma cannon. During this training he got to know the contained Plasma Spirit and learned to focus its anger in the incredible blast of the weapon. Soon after that, he became an exceptional marksman, even with the less accurate plasma cannon. He kept the Plasma Spirit pleased with prayer and many rituals for maintenance. During many campaigns, Arioch and his plasma cannon were always there to provide his brethren with valuable support, melting heretic and alien alike. Many years later, his squad was dispatched to do some recon along with 2 scout squads on the surface of Verax 5. As soon as their thunderhawk hit the murky ground and the doors opened up, he and his brothers could see both scout squads, who had their own thunderhawk, being overrun by masses of indigenous creatures with huge teeth and furry hair. Ignoring the cool down period of his plasma cannon and the warnings of the Plasma Spirit inside, Brother Arioch fired blast after blast of hot plasma into the seemingly endless horde of critters, killing massive amounts of them. Praying incessantly to the Plasma Spirit and ignoring the heat of his overheating weapon that was seeping through his armor, he stood his ground while the remainder of the scouts and his own squad embarked into the thunderhawk. Standing in the mud, his armor and flesh fusing together because of the incredible heat generated by his plasma cannon and his feet being eaten by the voracious horde, Arioch kept firing until finally, his sergeants hands pulled him into the thunderhawk and they took off. Back at the battle barge in orbit, he was still muttering prayers to the Plasma Spirit even though his legs were chomped off and his arms and chest were molten into his armor. For a while, Chaplain Marachiel had been searching for a marine, worthy to occupy a dreadnought sarcophagus that was available since a campaign some years ago. Hearing of the near death of Arioch, Marachiel decided he had found a worthy marine to be interred in that venerable machine. So Arioch continues to fight the enemies of the Imperium, his trusted plasma cannon always at the ready. He still says his prayers to the Plasma Spirit he knows so well, only now, they boom across the battlefield through his vox-amplifiers and the blast of his cannon.
