Thanks to our member Urbanknight we have a bit more detail about the upcoming Dark Angels codex/revision. Overall it's full of good news, though the "Early 2007" date is a bit later than previously thought. Anyway, read the scoop after the cut.

"I got a little 1 on 1 conversation in with Graham McNeil, who gave me a bit of info on whats happening with the Unforgiven.

Apparently the new releases are coming early next year. He said it was a major screw up in 2nd edition that they published the codex and said "The dark angels are keeping secrets" and then spelled out in detail exactly what all of those secrets are. The new codex is going to be like the black templars, not needing the space marine codex anymore and there will be an upgrade sprue box like the templars. He confirmed that they are definitely downplaying the Native American theme, and going with the more monkish theme. The Deathwing short story is going to become a legend of the chapter that may or may not have happened, from what I gathered in our 15-20 min conversation basically the new codex is mainly going to add a lot more mystique to the DA while really not going into too much detail as to what ACTUALLY happened. New Character models are planned of course, along with a bunch of new rules: according to Graham there are going to be more defined roles for the Deathwing and the Ravenwing, but he wouldn't go into detail on them. Thats about all I could drag out of him but at least there is a timeframe, I had to bug the guy for 10 min to get a ballpark figure there... so Early 2007"
