Techmarines

Adept

- The Marine is showing great interest and/or knowledge about the rituals of the Machine God. They are removed from their posting to be transferred to Company Armory (save the Tenth Company). They are taught the rituals to operate and maintain the Rhinos and Land Raiders as well as all of the Company’s Weapons, all under the watchful eye of the Techmarines. Scout Adepts must complete their transformation to full marine before proceeding further.

- Their green robes are adorned with the Adeptus Mechanicus badge device over their primary heart. They replace their Right Shoulder Pad on their Armor with a predominantly Red Shoulder Pad depicting the badge of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

 Apprentice

- The marine is sent to Mars to be trained by the Adeptus Mechanicus. They will not return until they have completed their training on Mars, if at all.

- They are sent in Red Robes bearing the Chapter Badge on the back and Left Sleeve. The Right Sleeve bears the badge of the Adeptus Mechanicus. They do not take their armor with them.

 Techmarine

– Completing his training on Mars, he returns to his Chapter a changed man. They have also forged their own armor and weapons that they take back with them to the Chapter. They take responsibilities related to their skills. Among these are the training and leading of Adepts. Techmarines may be inducted into the Outer Circle of the Deathwing if their skills warrant. This is the only known anomaly in the decisions of who joins the Deathwing. Techmarines hold back many secrets, to them what is one more.

- Techmarines never remove their armor save to repair it or to make modifications as necessary. This is done privately in the tightly guarded seclusion the Armory. Inducted Techmarines wear the Bone Robes over their armor only when it is required.

  Master Techmarines

– The Master is given the duty of overseeing the well-being of a Company’s Machines, Weapons and Equipment as well as overseeing construction of ships and bases. They also oversee the progress of their fellow Techmarines. They are brought into the Middle Circle of the Deathwing (Level 4).

- There is no uniform method of discerning a Master over a Techmarine. Since no two Techmarines are alike, Masters are usually recognized by their unique armor.

 Grand Master of the Techmarines

– The most knowledgeable, experienced and wisest of all the Techmarines, they are typically chosen by their predecessor prior to their death. They oversee the Forges of the Chapter as well as all the Techmarines and Adepts in the Chapter. They are inducted into the Second Level of the Deathwing.

- There is no uniform method of discerning a Grand Master. Since no two Techmarines are alike, Masters are usually recognized by their unique armor. Grand Masters may forge for themselves a suit of Terminator Armor in honor and respect for the Deathwing.
