Is this site dead? - 2007/02/18 20:56 I check this site every once and a while, and I find that no one has posted at all. Is this site really dead?

Re:Is this site dead? - 2007/02/27 21:55 I just joined. It appears to be dead, sadly. Anyone tried contacting the admin? It really actually upsets me as I've begun an attempt to catalog my complete Successor Chapter, the Angels of Lamentation, and this seems like the perfect site.

Re:Is this site dead? - 2007/03/02 08:38 I'm here, and I always see it whenever someone posts here. The problems with this site are, at the moment:

1) I don't like the site in terms of usability. I've tried to get it changed, but I don't know enough to do it myself and I can't get anyone else to do it. I ESPECIALLY don't like the forum software that much.

2) I don't have the time to produce content for it. The whole idea of the site was a kind of collaborative process, where every user was an author of his own articles (fanfic, painting logs, whatever) and everyone'd discuss it. That kinda failed since my initial contest to reward good content blew up in my face. After that, noone ever bothered to submit any more content to the site.

3) I kinda lost the will to work in the project after a one-two punch that certain names in the community delivered to me right when I was going along full speed.

So at the moment the site is nothing but a holding space for the amazingly awesome articles that people produced in the opening contest. It's interesting that the articles are good enough to keep the visits coming in, I'm just sad that there's no community here to receive them into the forum when they DO find this place.

Is there any chance for a restart of the site? Hmm, maybe.

First of all, I'd have to commit enough time to it to restore my tarnished reputation in the community. After the contest dragged on for MONTHS AND MONTHS without resolution, I'm expecting the guys who were here then to not trust me very much. As a matter of fact, I did select a winner (Tyra_nid's awesome awesome deathwing painting article) and I STILL have the prize boxes sealed in my office, I just never managed to send them to him yet, or announce it here.

Second, I need to have a major rethink about the goals for the site, and the processes for accomplishing them.

Third, I need to refocus my life a bit more around the Warhammer hobby, so I can get the time to work on my DAs and this site. This is something I'm in the process of doing anyway.

Fourth, I need some help. My original plan was to have a small staff helping me out, but the one person I managed to select to it just vanished when I needed him most, and although we managed to set things straight a few months ago it kinda made me unwilling to delegate anymore. That's unworkable though, that much I've figured out.

So, no promises. I'm tired of promises I can't keep. But I'll see what I can do. I certainly will not stop paying for hosting and name, this promise at least I managed to fulfill. So I'll do SOMETHING with it eventually. In the meantime, if you or other visitors have some things to discuss or show please do so at will. Even though there are few responses, I guarantee you that it will get read (if not by the hundreds of people that still visit the site monthly, then at least by me).
