 Battle report 1250 Deathwing - 2006/03/27 13:09 Well A friend of mine had a lovely Grey Knights army he wanted to fight my dark angels with, I thought to myself..."damn inquisition, lets bring out the big guns"

Thus, this hit the table:

1250

Chaplain (terminator armor, Crozius, CCW)

7 Terminators (Pair of lightning claws x6, Sergeant with Thunderhammer, power weapon, Furious Charge)
Mounted with Chaplain in Land Raider Crusader

5 Terminators (1 Assault Cannon, Cyclone Missile launcher, Tank Hunters)

5 Terminators (1 Assault Cannon, Cyclone Missile launcher, Tank hunters)

He had: (guessing)

2 8 man squads of Grey knights
1 mounted in Land Raider
Dreadnought (TLLC, ML)

1 Grand Master with retinue of 5 Terminators

Deployment started with all the units in cover.

Mission: Cleanse

I won the roll for first turn

Turn 1:

LRC with assault squad makes a 12 inch move towards their unmounted knights squad, pops smoke

1 squad of terms advances 6" fires on Land raider, killing it and entangling the squad inside killing 4 in explosion

1 squad of terms advances 6" takes out Dread with a boom.

Grey knights turn one:

1 squad can't fire (entangled)

Grandmaster squad fires on term squad, killing 1

Grey knights fire on LRC with no effect.

Turn 2:

LRC moves 6" forward towards Knight squad, fires.. 3 casualties

Terminator squad one fires on entangled squad.. 3 kills

terminator squad 2 fires on last man in entangled squad, squad completely destroyed

Assault Terminator squad charges grey knights, 5 men left wiped out. no causalties 3" consolidation AWAY from Grey knights grand master and retinue

Grey knights turn 2:

Grey knight terminators advance 6" and fire. Killing one terminator. 1/4" outside assault range.

Turn 3:

Terminator squad 1 Claims sector 1

Terminator squad 2 gets into enemy deployment zone

Assault squad moves 6" towards Grandmaster squad, then charges.

LRC takes out 1 GK terminator

Assault phase sees my Chaplain killed, but the grey knights Vaporized to a man.

End result:

Deathwing claim all quarters, all Grey Knights dead.

Casualties for the deathwing

1 terminator,
1 assault terminator
1 chaplain.

Hoo. Rah.

Following the battle we tracked down the group of inquisitors that ordered the investigation and have eliminated them.

Offical reports on the disapearence of the Inquisitors and the group of grey knights say they were lost in a warp storm that appeared in the sector at the time.

I'm having to considder giving my CML termies the sack. I swear that one is blind and the other puts his helmet on backwards before each battle.
