In part, it's because my work is so out of control that I slept in the office today, in my chair, for 3 hours. and this evening will be the same. Therefore, I've been neglecting both the site itself and the contest entries (apologies to the people whose entries are not still up on the site.)

It also didn't help that when requesting quotes from web designers to help fix up the site according to the feedback thread, the prices I got were similar to what I paid for the entire site development as it is now. I simply cannot justify this. I fear I may have gone down a technological dead end, using the solutions I did for the site and forums, and now I don't know how to get out of them.

The B&C is likely also a reason. I've gotten permission from the mods there to publicize my site in the DA forum there, which would probably help quite a bit, but unfortunately I haven't had the time yet.

I'm not giving up, but it will be at least until the end of the week before the situation will improve in any way. I apologize for this, and vow tofix it as soon as humanly possible. With the right revolting piety of tone

 Re:Forum needs new people - 2006/04/17 16:50 Astro - we all know that there are sometimes too few hours in a day, so no worries man, all the effort you put in this site is greatly appreciated!

And if the company that made this site overcharges you for changes to a starting site (beta as we might say), they won't be around for too long as the competition is cutthroat and they can't afford to lose customers. (I know what I'm talking about, believe me.)

Now if I could only find the time to finish my army, I'd post some more pictures

PS - Maybe you could add some ads on the site, I think nobody would mind a banner at the top, or google ads in a sidebar.

They just indicated to me that they were unavailable to do further PAID work on the site, as they took on too many commitments after they finished their contracted work. This forces me to fish around for other companies and freelancers to essentially "take over" their work.

About ads: no way. I will keep the site ad-free for as long as I can keep it up. There's no way that the current site users can bust my paid monhly bandwidth (I'd need roughly 8 times more people constantly here) and I won't open the site to ads just to finance a couple one-off upgrades. I'll see what I can do, it's just that it becomes a slightly more complicated decision. For example, if I have to pay $400 for a couple site tweaks, why not get someone else to do some more extensive redesigns like getting a better forum software? etc etc. I'll announce anything important.
