I've tried too do some blending here as you can only really see on the helmet/shoulder pad, it looks abit too light in really life.

Just another pic

And here we have some WIP GS robes, I'm not sure what helmet to put on the running one, i have some "crusade" and "maximus" helmets I'm thinking off.

C&C welcome! Or any camera adivce?

Re:It's been along time - 2006/03/19 13:46 They seem the be nice Blakkheim but the pictures are a bit dark really, any chance you could tweak the lighting in the room and try again?

Heres my guide to painting nice blended highlights on dark angels green.

1/ Paint a small strip of snot green where you want the highlight to be.

2/ Paint the edge or where the light will hit the highlight most scorpion green. This may need 2 goes to get a good bright colour.

3/ Water down some Scorpion green (1 part snot green to 3 or 4 parts water)and paint a tiny layer between the snot green layer and the scopion green edge.

4/ Water down some snot green (1 part snot green to 3 or 4 parts water) and paint a strip that overlaps between the band you painted in step 1 and the unhighlighted armour. This will need to be done a few times to start blending it in.

5/ Now mix half dark angels green and half snot green then water it down like step 3 and then paint a overlapping strip btween the watered down snot green and the unhighlighted armour.

Touch up any mistakes and your done.

If you have any problems with the guide ill be glad to help, once you get used to it you will have perfectly blended colours from scorpion green to dark angels green.

Re:It's been along time - 2006/03/20 17:04 Cheers Cephi, I'm sure if you saw them in real life they might not look so grand.

Xeres, cheers for the tips, lots of people seem to use that combination for highlighting, I must be bizzare I used a yellow mix with DA's green to gradulay bring mine up.

I got some new W&N brushes this morning so I'm eager to get working with them! Just waiting for a bits order and I shall get some more done. I will try and have a play with the camera at the weekend see if I can get anything better.

Cheers guys!

Edit: Ohh yes, any tips on red gems? So I can paint the helmets lens' ?
