Hey guys it seems like there's a huge variation in how people go about painting their "normal" marines and their Deathwing.
For my part i'd start off doing the green with a 2:1 Dark Angels/Chaos Black mix then highlight that with Dark Angels Green with final highlights of 2:1 Dark Angels/Snot Green. This is all done around the black lining method described in Codex: Dark Angels.
For the bone coloured armour of the the Deathwing i start with Bestial Brown as the base colour (i.e. the first colour after the undercoat) then do succesive highlights by adding Vomit Brown, first 2:1 Bestial/Vomit, then 1:1, followed by 2:1 Vomit/Bestial, Vomit on its own, then repeat the process but this time by adding Bleached Bone to the Vomit Brown. This sounds very time consuming, and it is, but the Deathwing are the Elite of the army and odds are you're only going to have one squad so why not give them the extra time and effort these noble warriors deserve? One last thing, always water down your paint, it isn't an exact science but i usually go with one part water to one part paint. Hope this has been helpful i've never done an online paint guide before

Re:Post your Dark Angels - 2006/03/20 17:13
For the green, from primed black I use: 50/50 chaos black/DA's green for some extra darkness and help blending. 100% DA's green. Then I use yellow (badmoon) say 15% ratio and increase 10% everytime till about 80% for the lightest of highlights. Mixed with DA's green of course.
Deathwing, white undercoat: (any sort of brown really) graveyard earth, then GE 50/50 with kommando khaki. A solid Kommando khaki and then start mixing up some bleached bone with it for highlighting.

I go for the "lazy painter" method (well... sort of)
Black undercoat DA green coat Black wash DA green drybrush Snot green drybrush highlight Scorpion green extra highlights
that's enough for my rank and file marines
deathwing will be in the same colors (successor, remember... go check my fluff somewhere ) but probably with some more attention to highlights... might try blending there... haven't painted any yet

And the troops. Each Vet Sgt has an Auspex, althought I usually don't pay for them or use them, as a thematic device to represent their hunt for the fallen.

Finally, the Ravenwing. Simple black with dark grey highlights. Green weapon casings bring them back into the DA list.

Very nice Blue Loki and Subtext, and welcome to the site!
Subtext I almost thought that was cypher then, I'm liking the free hand and the exploding plasma.
